Nikita Kucherov netted his fourth goal of the season, pushing the Tampa Bay Lightning to a win over the Vancouver Canucks in their home opener, which was delayed due to a hurricane.
Kucherov was first to score, with an assist from Darren Raddysh early in the match. Additional goals and assists came from Brayden Point, Anthony Cirelli, and Brandon Hagel, while Andrei Vasilevskiy defended the net with 26 saves.
Vancouver's lone goal was scored by Conor Garland during a power play in the third period, and Arturs Silovs accounted for 24 saves for the Canucks.
Despite off-ice disruptions caused by Hurricane Milton, the Lightning's performance remained unaffected.
A pivotal moment saw Vasilevskiy make critical saves against Tyler Myers and Brock Boeser, maintaining the Lightning's lead.
Kucherov has registered a point on all five of the Lightning's initial goals this season, tying him for the fourth-longest streak in NHL history.
Next, the Lightning are set to face the Golden Knights on Thursday, while Vancouver will play Florida on the road.
