Philipp Kurashev scored an overtime goal, giving the Blackhawks a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild and ending their two-game losing streak.
Kurashev's shot from the left wing went past Filip Gustavsson's glove. Petr Mrazek contributed with 32 saves, helping the Blackhawks break a 12-game losing streak against the Wild. Although Matt Boldy leveled the game for the Wild late in the third period, the Blackhawks secured the victory.
Despite a strong start to the season, the Wild were kept at bay offensively until the third period, as Chicago's defense came through, successfully killing three power plays.
A pivotal moment occurred in the last minute of the second period when Mrazek lost his stick. Taylor Hall quickly provided a replacement, allowing Mrazek to stop Jake Middleton's attempt. On another note, Jason Dickinson ended his 10-game goal drought for Chicago by scoring his second of the season.
The Wild are set to host Montreal on Thursday, while the Blackhawks will travel to Seattle.
