Anaheim Ducks News & Updates

In a vigorous encounter in Anaheim, Andrei Kuzmenko stole the spotlight with a hat trick, alongside Nazem Kadri who contributed with a goal and two assists, to propel the Calgary Flames to a resounding 6-3 win against the Anaheim Ducks.

Kuzmenko sealed his second hat trick of his career by scoring twice towards the end of the game, overturning Anaheim’s attempt to close the gap after they narrowed the Flames' lead to a single goal.

Andrew Mangiapane and Connor Zary were also among the goal scorers for the Flames, marking their third victory in their last 12 outings. In goal, Dustin Wolf made 19 saves to help secure the win for Calgary.

"The first two periods were ours," remarked Wolf, who hails from California. "Despite Anaheim scoring some great goals, I fought hard and managed some crucial saves."

On his NHL debut, Sam Colangelo scored early in the third period for the Ducks, with Frank Vatrano and Olen Zellweger adding to the tally thereafter.

With a little over five minutes left, Kuzmenko redirected a power-play shot from Jonathan Huberdeau into the net, and then struck again a few minutes later to further solidify Calgary's lead.

Kuzmenko initially had doubts about who scored his second goal but eventually embraced the feat.

"Whether I scored it or not, a hat trick is always delightful," he said with a smile. "But the victory remains paramount."

This match also served as the final home game for the Ducks' veteran forward Jakob Silfverberg, who is hanging up his skates after 12 seasons in the NHL to return to play in Sweden.

John Gibson, in goal for Anaheim, managed 21 saves, as the Ducks registered their 15th defeat
