Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

Mark Stone, the captain of the Vegas Golden Knights, has received medical clearance to resume practicing as he recovers from a spleen injury.

Having contributed 53 points across 56 games, Stone has been sidelined since February 20th, following an injury categorized as upper-body. He is slated to join the team for morning practices, albeit wearing a jersey that signifies no contact is permitted.

There remains no confirmed schedule for when Stone might return to active play.

The Golden Knights, as of this past Friday, held onto the last wild-card position for the Western Conference. They were ahead of the St. Louis Blues by three points and had played one less game.

Following Stone’s injury, he was placed on the long-term injured reserve list, a move that enabled the acquisition of players like Anthony Mantha, Noah Hanifin, and Tomas Hertl before the trade deadline of the NHL.

Should Stone's recovery continue positively, his participation in the playoffs' first round could become a possibility. Despite missing the last three months of the previous regular season due to back surgery, he made a significant comeback during the playoffs. Stone was instrumental in the team's Stanley Cup victory, garnering 11 goals and 24 points.
