Vinni Lettieri delivered the decisive goal leading to a 3-2 win for the Minnesota Wild against the Ottawa Senators. This critical triumph keeps the Wild in the chase for the playoffs, now only six points shy of catching up with the Los Angeles Kings for the coveted second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.

The game's opening goal came from Mason Shaw, with Matt Boldy adding another to the tally. For the Wild, Marc-Andre Fleury blocked 30 shots. The combined efforts of Lettieri, Shaw, and Jacob Lucchini, who together have netted five goals over 84 matches, showcased the team's ability to score beyond its main stars.

For Ottawa, Drake Batherson and Jakob Chychrun managed to score a power-play goal each, while Joonas Korpisalo saved 17 attempts. However, this match concluded the Senators' five-match winning streak.

Tim Stützle made a name for himself by assisting on Chychrun’s goal, marking him as the first player from the Senators to achieve multiple 70-point seasons before the age of 23.
