In response to Hurricane Milton, the Tampa Bay Lightning have moved their practice sessions to Raleigh, North Carolina. This relocation anticipates their season opener against the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. With the hurricane expected to hit Tampa Bay on Wednesday night, evacuation orders have been issued for coastal communities.

The game between the Lightning and Carolina, scheduled as the home opener on Saturday, remains on the calendar. Similarly, the NFL team, the Buccaneers, have also made an early departure from Tampa, heading to New Orleans for their Sunday match against the Saints.

In collegiate sports, the Memphis versus South Florida football game at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa has been shifted from Friday to Saturday. South Florida plans to move its team to Orlando later on Tuesday.

Furthermore, the LPGA has decided to delay its Q-Series qualifying event, initially planned to begin on Sunday in Venice, Florida. Ensuring the safety of participants and the surrounding community is their primary concern. The LPGA intends to provide an update regarding the event after the hurricane passes.
