Lightning Strike Twice, Douse the Flames in Electric Series Kickoff

The Red Sox narrowly escaped a chaotic ninth inning to claim a 7-6 win against the Yankees in the exciting opening game of the series at Yankee Stadium.
Rafael Devers was pivotal for Boston, hitting an impressive three-run home run in the second inning. Additionally, Trevor Story added to the score with a two-run homer in the fourth.
The Yankees made a comeback effort in the later innings, slowly closing the gap. A solo home run by Aaron Judge brought them within a single run during the eighth inning.
During the ninth inning, it appeared that the Red Sox had secured their win following an RBI single by J.D. Martinez. However, the Yankees countered with a three-run homer from Giancarlo Stanton, bringing the game to a tie.
Nonetheless, Boston managed to maintain their lead. Xander Bogaerts hit a ground-rule double that allowed Alex Verdugo to score in the top of the 10th inning, sealing their hard-won victory.
