Lightning Triumph Over Capitals in Thrilling Overtime Victory

In the opening period, the Penguins gained an early advantage when Sidney Crosby found the net just over four minutes into the game. The Capitals, however, answered back with two goals scored by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Tom Wilson, putting them ahead 2-1 as they moved into the second period.

During the second period, the Penguins managed to even the score with a goal from Jake Guentzel. The Capitals briefly took the lead again thanks to a goal from Lars Eller, but the Penguins quickly tied it up once more with a goal from Evan Rodrigues.

The third period saw no goals from either side, pushing the game into overtime. In overtime, the Penguins secured a victory with a goal from Bryan Rust, ending the match with a 5-4 win.

Tristan Jerry made 32 saves while guarding the net for the Penguins, while Darcy Kuemper recorded 29 saves for the Capitals. As a result of the game, the Penguins' record improved to 2-0-0, whereas the Capitals' record dropped to 0-1-1.
