Brayden Point's overtime goal secured a 3-2 win for the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday.
After being sidelined due to an injury for two weeks, Point made a significant comeback by scoring both the tying goal in the third period and the decisive one at 3:58 during overtime. Anthony Cirelli also contributed to the Lightning's score.
Despite taking an early lead with goals from Jesse Puljujarvi and Rickard Rakell, Pittsburgh was unable to maintain their advantage.
For Tampa Bay, Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 17 saves, while Tristan Jarry managed to stop 32 shots for Pittsburgh.
This victory marks the Lightning's third win in a row, whereas the Penguins now face a slump, having lost four of their last five games.
A pivotal moment occurred when Point received a pass behind the net and scored with a shot that Jarry couldn't block.
With his overtime goal, Point moved past Martin St. Louis to become second in franchise history for the most overtime goals.
Up next, the Lightning will play against Columbus on Thursday, while the Penguins will continue their series of home games with a matchup against Winnipeg on Friday.
