Darcy Kuemper, now joining the Los Angeles Kings for the second time, conveyed his excitement about this return, pointing to previous successes and a strong desire for teamwork.
Having been traded from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois, Kuemper has had stints with five different teams throughout his career, including a period with the Kings in 2017. After his trade to Arizona in 2018, he is now focused on reclaiming his winning form.
Kuemper is set to join David Rittich as a goalkeeper for the Kings in the 2024-25 season, filling the role previously held by Cam Talbot. He is eager to revisit his championship performance from the 2021-22 season with Colorado.
Even though he served as a backup to Charlie Lindgren in Washington, where the Capitals faced a sweep by the Rangers, Kuemper remains positive about his capabilities and is committed to contributing to the Kings' success.
