Los Angeles Kings News & Updates

Viktor Arvidsson led the way with two goals as the Los Angeles Kings clinched a playoff spot by defeating the Calgary Flames 4-1. Contributions from Kevin Fiala and Akil Thomas were crucial to their victory as well.

Arvidsson emphasized the critical nature of entering the playoffs with a united front, rather than focusing solely on seeding. Kings' goalie Cam Talbot blocked 23 shots, while Jonathan Huberdeau of the Flames managed to score late in the game.

Coach Jim Hiller of the Kings praised the team's effort and stressed the need to maintain their strong performance going into the postseason. Anze Kopitar shared Arvidsson's perspective on the importance of momentum over playoff seeding, referencing the Kings' 2012 Stanley Cup win as an example.

The Flames, on the other hand, are set to miss the postseason, having lost nine out of their last 11 games. Even though they had a recent victory against the Kings, this time they were outmatched.

The Kings took an early lead with a goal during a power play, followed by Arvidsson increasing the lead in the second period. Thomas then scored, marking a notable moment early in his NHL career, and Arvidsson rounded off the victory with a goal into an empty net.

Both teams are slated to next play against Anaheim in their forthcoming games.
