San Jose Sharks News & Updates

Macklin Celebrini, the San Jose Sharks center and top pick in the 2024 NHL draft, is undergoing assessment for an injury affecting his lower body.

Coach Ryan Warsofsky mentioned uncertainty regarding Celebrini's availability for the upcoming Saturday game against the Anaheim Ducks, given the ongoing evaluation.

During training camp and the preseason, Celebrini has been managing this injury.

In his first NHL game, Celebrini made an impact by scoring a goal and providing an assist during the Sharks' 5-4 overtime defeat to the St. Louis Blues.

He achieved his goal 7 minutes and 1 second into the game, marking the second-fastest goal scored by a No. 1 draft pick in their debut and positioning him as the sixth-youngest player to score in an NHL debut.

As a freshman at Boston University, Celebrini concluded the season with an impressive 64 points, comprising 32 goals and 32 assists, across 38 games.
