Maple Leafs Sign Defenseman Marshall Rifai to Two-Year Extension

Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Marshall Rifai has agreed to a two-year extension lasting through the 2026-27 season, as revealed by the team on Thursday.

The deal offers an annual average salary of $775,000.

In the previous season, Rifai participated in two NHL games for the Maple Leafs, with an average ice time of 11 minutes and 40 seconds per game. Additionally, he accumulated 19 points, including two goals and 17 assists, over 57 games with the Toronto Marlies in the AHL. During three playoff games, he managed to score three goals and provide one assist.

Overall, Rifai has collected 35 points, comprising six goals and 29 assists, over 126 regular-season games with the Marlies. In playoff matches, he has contributed three goals and two assists over eight games.

Rifai initially joined the organization in March 2022, signing a one-year contract with the AHL.
