Auston Matthews led the charge for the Toronto Maple Leafs with a duo of goals, one being his season-leading 62nd, in a 6-4 victory against the Florida Panthers this past Monday. Nicholas Robertson and Matthew Knies contributed significantly as well, each securing a goal and an assist for Toronto.
Toronto established an early advantage by securing a 4-goal lead, only for the Panthers to mount a comeback in the final period. The Panthers' efforts were highlighted by Vladimir Tarasenko's one goal and two assists, alongside goals from Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett.
With Ilya Samsonov stopping 26 shots, the Leafs solidified their position at third in the Atlantic Division. Despite the loss, the Panthers remain at the top of the standings, though they missed an opportunity to secure a spot in the playoffs.
Elsewhere, the Boston Bruins ensured their participation in the playoff stage following a win against the Detroit Red Wings.
