The Toronto Maple Leafs enhanced their team lineup by making three new signings. Max Pacioretty and Steven Lorentz have both committed to one-year contracts, while Cade Webber secured a two-year extension.
Max Pacioretty, aged 35, joined the squad after impressing during a training camp tryout. He signed a deal valued at $873,770. Meanwhile, Steven Lorentz, who is 28, made the move from the Florida Panthers for $775,000.
Pacioretty brings a wealth of experience, having played 902 NHL games, during which he accumulated 668 points, including 330 goals. Additionally, he has made significant contributions in the playoffs, adding 50 points to his record.
The new contract for Cade Webber will begin in the 2025-26 season. Initially a two-way deal, it transitions to a one-way contract in 2026-27, with an average annual value of $825,000. During the 2023-24 season, Webber participated in 38 games for Boston University, where he assisted in six goals and played a vital role in leading the Terriers to the Frozen Four semifinals.
