Toronto Maple Leafs News & Updates

Midway through the third period, Brad Marchand scored a decisive goal, securing a 4-2 win for the Boston Bruins against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Wednesday evening. This victory placed the Bruins ahead in the first-round playoff series with a lead of 2-1.

The critical moment for Marchand came just 28 seconds after Toronto's Todd Bertuzzi managed to even the score. Danton Heinen assisted Marchand, who then successfully shot the puck beyond Ilya Samsonov's reach.

For Boston, goals were additionally netted by Jake DeBrusk, Trent Frederic, and again by Marchand, while Jeremy Swayman contributed with 28 saves. On Toronto's side, Matthew Knies found the back of the net, and Samsonov blocked 30 shots. However, the Maple Leafs did not capitalize on their five chances with a man advantage.

The fourth game in this best-of-seven series is scheduled to take place on Saturday night at Scotiabank Arena.
