Vegas Golden Knights News & Updates

Vegas Golden Knights leaders, including captain Mark Stone and defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, have returned to practice alongside Chandler Stephenson and William Carrier. Stone had been sidelined due to an issue with his spleen, and Pietrangelo's comeback from appendicitis was postponed. General Manager Kelly McCrimmon is keeping an eye on their readiness for the upcoming playoff game against the Dallas Stars on Monday.

Pietrangelo confirmed he has completely recovered, highlighting the necessity of addressing his health concern prior to the postseason. The potential inclusion of Stone in the lineup would serve as a major enhancement, particularly in his role among the top six forwards.

In preparation for the playoffs, the Golden Knights strengthened their team by acquiring Anthony Mantha, Noah Hanifin, and Tomas Hertl through trades. With the playoffs eliminating salary cap limitations, activating Stone would be straightforward from a financial standpoint.

Last season, Stone had a pivotal contribution to the Knights’ journey to win the Stanley Cup, netting 11 goals over the course of 22 matches. The Stars, boasting the best record in the West, are set to host the first game of the series on Monday.

Anthony Mantha is still seen wearing a non-contact jersey, while Jonathan Marchessault and Ben Hutton are taking some time off. McCrimmon stressed the significance of having the team in prime health condition as they aim for a strong playoff performance with the roster now in better shape.
