Boston Bruins player Pat Maroon voiced criticism toward Matthew Tkachuk of the Florida Panthers for hitting David Pastrnak after he had fallen in a scuffle, labeling Tkachuk's behavior as unsportsmanlike.
Maroon, however, suggested he would refrain from engaging Tkachuk in a fight as a form of retaliation, opting instead to pursue different tactics.
The Panthers' head coach, Paul Maurice, stood by Tkachuk's conduct, and Carter Verhaeghe from the Panthers commended the spirited nature of the altercation.
The second game saw a tumultuous atmosphere filled with penalties. Notably, Panthers' Brandon Montour replicated Brad Marchand's infamous licking incident, garnering quite a bit of attention for his antics. Montour explained that this act was a spontaneous response to Marchand’s provocations.
Game 3 of the series between the Bruins and Panthers is slated to take place in Boston at 7 pm on Friday.
