Mason Marchment is set to rejoin the Dallas Stars for the second game of their series against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. After sitting out of six matches due to an injury that hasn't been disclosed, his return is highly anticipated by the team and fans alike.
Stars' head coach Pete DeBoer has highlighted Marchment's important role on the team, not only for his scoring ability but also for his skill and the strong camaraderie he shares with teammates Matt Duchene and Tyler Seguin. His comeback marks a significant boost for the team.
Marchment's return means Radek Faksa, who made a notable impact by scoring the leading goal in Game 7 against the Golden Knights and contributed significantly in the first game against Colorado, will be stepping aside. Faksa had played for 14 and a half minutes in the series opener.
During the regular season, Marchment made a strong showing with a total of 22 goals and 31 assists, and he even netted a goal in the playoff's opening game against Vegas. Despite his absence, his presence has been sorely missed as the Stars have struggled on the offense, netting only 19 goals across their first eight playoff games.
Marchment himself is eager to get back on the ice, looking forward to bringing energy and a positive spirit back to the team as they continue their playoff journey.
