Matvei Michkov's Overtime Goal Seals Flyers' 5-4 Comeback Victory Against Senators

Matvei Michkov scored the decisive goal in overtime at 4:05, leading the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-4 win against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night. His goal came from a challenging angle beside the net.

Anthony Richard and Bobby Brink helped level the game for Philadelphia with goals just 2:03 apart in the third period. Travis Sanheim and Travis Konecny also contributed goals for the Flyers, and Ivan Fedotov made 33 saves.

Brady Tkachuk, Drake Batherson, Josh Norris, and Adam Gaudette found the back of the net for Ottawa, which had won its last two away games. Linus Ullmark recorded 14 saves for the Senators.

The Flyers emerged victorious despite conceding two power-play goals. However, the Senators have dominated their opponents with a shot count of 111-62 over their recent three matches.

Bobby Brink's goal in the third period, which equalized the score with 7:15 left, was a pivotal moment. The Senators capitalized on two of their six power-play opportunities, increasing their season's total to 16 successful power plays in 54 attempts.

The Flyers are set to welcome Buffalo on Saturday night for the start of a five-game home series. The Senators will play against Carolina on the same evening.
