Ottawa Senators News & Updates

In Ottawa, the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Senators with a 5-2 victory led by Connor McDavid, who scored twice and assisted another goal. Evan Bouchard, Leon Draisaitl, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also found the net. Tim Stutzle and Josh Norris scored for the Senators, marking their third straight loss.

The Oilers bounced back from a loss to Montreal, with Bouchard opening the scoring early. Stutzle tied it late in the period, but McDavid restored the lead twice, one on a power play. Draisaitl increased the lead in the second period, followed by a goal from Nugent-Hopkins. Norris added another for Ottawa towards the end.

Edmonton's goals were partly due to Ottawa's defensive mistakes, while Stuart Skinner made 27 saves for the Oilers.

A crucial moment happened when Ottawa had a two-man advantage after penalties by Norris and Giroux, which McDavid took advantage of to score his second goal.

Although McDavid had never scored against Ullmark before, he now has 13 goals and 32 assists in games versus Ottawa.

The Oilers are set to play Minnesota on Thursday, while the Senators are scheduled to host Vegas.
