Dallas Stars News & Updates

Connor McDavid, the captain of the Oilers, experienced deep regret after receiving a penalty early in the first overtime session.

However, McDavid redeemed himself by scoring a significant goal just 32 seconds into the second overtime, ensuring a 3-2 win for Edmonton against the Dallas Stars.

The penalty resulted from an incident where Matt Duchene was hit in the face with a high-stick during a faceoff, for which McDavid was responsible.

McDavid shared that his stint in the penalty box felt exceptionally extended and difficult.

Leon Draisaitl continued his scoring spree in the playoffs, recording a goal in his 13th consecutive game, while Zach Hyman added a goal and an assist to aid in the Oilers' victory.

Tyler Seguin managed to net both goals for the Stars, marking the seventh consecutive playoff series in which they've dropped the first game.

In the goaltending department, Stuart Skinner saved 31 shots for Edmonton, whereas Jake Oettinger stopped 35 for Dallas.

Edmonton showcased their defensive prowess by successfully nullifying 20 penalties in a span of over five games.

McDavid applauded the Oilers' penalty-kill team for their impressive performance, noting how enjoyable it was to watch them play.
