In overtime's second minute, Michael Kesselring secured a 2-1 win for the Utah Hockey Club against the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.
Utah's equalizing goal came from Vladislav Kolyachonok with just over five minutes left in the third period. Connor Ingram protected the goal by making 22 saves for Utah.
Boston's Cole Koepke netted a goal, while Jeremy Swayman successfully thwarted 30 attempts.
After the first period ended with no score, Boston pulled ahead when Koepke scored with just over seven minutes remaining in the second period. Late in the third period, Kolyachonok recorded his first goal of the season, leveling the match.
The Bruins' strong defense limited Utah's clear chances, even though Utah had more shots on target. Utah's gameplay was hindered by careless passes and inefficient finishes, stalling their usual early-season scoring effectiveness.
Kesselring's goal in overtime sealed a surprising comeback for Utah, which had gone nearly 55 minutes without a score. This victory is Utah's third in overtime within four games, while Boston is set to face Nashville on Tuesday night, completing a three-game road trip.
