Minten Scores First NHL Goal as Toronto Maple Leafs Defeat Vegas Golden Knights 3-0

Fraser Minten scored his inaugural NHL goal as the Toronto Maple Leafs, despite being hampered by injuries, secured a 3-0 victory against the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night.

William Nylander contributed his 13th goal of the season during a power play, and Pontus Holmberg added an empty-net goal.

Joseph Woll successfully blocked all 31 shots he encountered, achieving his first shutout of the season, while Adin Hill defended 23 shots for the Vegas team.

Both squads played without their captains: Toronto's Auston Matthews and Vegas's Mark Stone. Additionally, Toronto missed players like Max Domi, David Kampf, Max Pacioretty, Calle Jarnkrok, and Ryan Reaves, with Vegas also missing Reaves because of a suspension.

Matthew Knies was unable to continue playing after being left disoriented from a hit by Zach Whitecloud in the second period, resulting in an upper-body injury.

Toronto managed to thwart Vegas's powerful play unit, preventing them from scoring on any of their three attempts.

The Maple Leafs have won six of their last seven games, making it a winning streak, whereas Vegas is now experiencing a two-game losing streak.

On Sunday, Toronto will wrap up their homestand against Utah Hockey Club, while Vegas will continue their road games when they face Ottawa on Thursday.
