Montreal Canadiens' Defenseman David Reinbacher Faces 5-6 Month Recovery Due to Knee Injury

Montreal Canadiens defenseman David Reinbacher will likely be sidelined for five to six months after undergoing left knee surgery.

Reinbacher sustained the injury due to a hit by Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Marshall Rifai during a preseason match. He was observed using crutches following the incident.

At 19 years old, Reinbacher was selected fifth overall by the Canadiens in the 2023 draft. He recorded 11 points, consisting of 1 goal and 10 assists, for EHC Kloten in Switzerland and accumulated 5 points, with 2 goals and 3 assists, for Laval in the AHL.
