Nick Suzuki and Brendan Gallagher each recorded a goal and an assist as the Montreal Canadiens secured a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday night.
Suzuki, who has now achieved a point streak lasting seven games, scored during the first period and assisted Cole Caufield's power-play goal in the second. Jake Evans also scored for Montreal, while Cayden Primeau clinched the win with 23 saves.
In his NHL debut for Philadelphia, Alexei Kolosov made 20 saves. However, the Flyers have now faced defeat in seven of their last eight games.
Travis Sanheim netted two goals for Philadelphia, and Travis Konecny's goal reduced the deficit to one in the closing moments.
Mike Matheson and David Savard were pivotal in Montreal's defense by blocking numerous shots.
Kolosov, the first NHL goalie from Belarus, made an impressive save during a 2-on-0 breakaway.
Logan Mailloux's shot, which deflected off Gallagher's leg, gave Montreal a 2-1 advantage in the second period.
Philadelphia faced significant challenges in the second period, allowing three goals while failing to score themselves, bringing their record for this period to 19-6.
The Canadiens are set to welcome Seattle on Tuesday, whereas the Flyers will head to Boston to play against the Bruins on that same day.
