Los Angeles Kings News & Updates

Trevor Moore's impressive hat-trick led the Los Angeles Kings to secure a 5-2 win against the Seattle Kraken, effectively dashing Seattle's playoff aspirations.

Moore managed to score twice in the second period, seizing command for the Kings and marking himself as the team's top scorer with 29 goals for the season. Adrian Kempe and Kevin Fiala contributed to the scoreboard for Los Angeles, with Cam Talbot stopping 21 shots.

With Pierre-Luc Dubois assisting on three occasions, the Kings have now widened their lead to five points over St. Louis for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.

The Kraken saw contributions from Andre Burakovsky and Brian Dumoulin during the third period, yet this effort wasn't enough to secure a playoffs position, marking the team's absence for the second time in their three-year history.

After making the playoffs last year with 46 wins, the Kraken have managed only 31 wins this season. Coach Dave Hakstol voiced his dissatisfaction with the team's performance and stressed the need for improvement in the remaining seven games.

Kempe's first-period goal on a power play was followed by Moore's second-period goals and Fiala's third-period breakaway goal, broadening the Kings' lead. Although Dumoulin's effort brought Seattle closer, it wasn't sufficient.

Despite Phillip Danault missing his third consecutive game due to injury, Moore's outstanding play in combination with Dubois was pivotal. Looking ahead, the Kings are set to play against San Jose, while the Kraken will head to Anaheim.
