Winnipeg Jets News & Updates

During Game 4 against the Colorado Avalanche, Winnipeg Jets winger Vladislav Namestnikov was struck in the face by a puck, resulting in a fractured cheekbone. After spending a night in Denver for observation, he made his return to Winnipeg the following Monday.

The participation of Namestnikov in Tuesday's Game 5 remains uncertain. However, even with the option of donning a protective mask, his resilience and adaptability have been commended by his coach.

Additionally, an incident in the first round's Game 4 between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks resulted in injuries to Roman Josi, the Predators' captain, and Tyler Myers, a defenseman for the Canucks, who both suffered facial injuries.

This marks the second alarming incident for the Jets in their series against the Avalanche. Previously on Friday, Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon received a significant cut on his hand from a skate blade amidst a post-game fracas, necessitating stitches.

Dillon's condition is being monitored on a day-to-day basis, with his potential participation in Game 5 under review. The team is placing a high priority on his health and recovery.
