Vancouver Canucks News & Updates

Roman Josi and Alexandre Carrier netted goals, leading the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth game of their initial playoff round, thus extending their playoff journey. Filip Forsberg contributed assists on both scores while Juuse Saros secured 19 saves for the Predators, who are now down 3-2 in the series.

For the Canucks, Nikita Zadorov found the back of the net, and the team's newcomer goalie, Arturs Silovs, made 20 saves. The competition shifts back to Nashville for the sixth game on Friday evening.

In the early stages, Vancouver saw some chances, but Nashville upped their game in the second period, amassing 11 shots to Vancouver's four. Nashville's Cole Smith and Kiefer Sherwood were close to scoring, yet Silovs denied them.

Zadorov gave the Canucks the lead at the beginning of the third period. However, Josi evened the score during a power play by forcing both Silovs and the puck into the net, interrupting the Canucks' streak of 17 successful penalty kills. Shortly after, Carrier's powerful shot from the blue line put Nashville ahead.

Despite their defeat, the Canucks still possess the opportunity to clinch the series in Game 6.
