Nashville Predators News & Updates

Mitch Korn, a highly regarded goaltending expert, is back with the Nashville Predators and will be in charge of the team's goaltending operations.

Korn has a long-standing relationship with Predators general manager Barry Trotz, having collaborated with him during several coaching tenures, including a 15-season stint in Nashville from 1998 to 2014.

At the age of 66, Korn won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018 under Trotz. He earned a reputation in the sport for mentoring Dominik Hasek into becoming a two-time league MVP and six-time Vezina Trophy winner.

On his return to Nashville, Korn will head a goaltending team that features Ben Vanderklok, Jason Barron, and Pekka Rinne. One of his main focuses could be top prospect Askarov, who has the potential to become his next standout student.

Korn is eager to reconnect with the organization and work alongside Vanderklok, whom he initially hired as an assistant in 2009.

Throughout his career, Korn has contributed to the development of numerous NHL goaltenders, such as Philipp Grubauer, Vitek Vanecek, Ilya Samsonov, and Ilya Sorokin.
