Florida Panthers News & Updates

Jesper Bratt achieved his second career hat-trick, while Stefan Noesen found the net twice, leading the New Jersey Devils to a 6-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Thursday, which marked the conclusion of their two-game sweep against the Stanley Cup champions.

Jack Hughes added a goal and two assists, and Jake Allen stopped 25 shots for the Devils. The team also managed to score three power-play goals and a short-handed goal during an empty-net situation in the closing moments of the game.

For the Panthers, Sam Reinhart and Jesper Boqvist were the goal scorers, marking the team's first back-to-back losses since October. Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 23 saves.

This season, the Devils distinguished themselves as the first team to score two goals within the last 12 seconds of periods, both resulting from power plays.

Sam Bennett returned to the ice for Florida after missing the previous game on Tuesday due to an injury, and he assisted on Boqvist’s goal.

During the third period, the Panthers had a power play opportunity, which was cut short by a tripping penalty against Carter Verhaeghe.

The Devils have achieved three power-play goals in a game on two occasions this season, compared to just five throughout the entire last regular season.

Looking ahead, the Devils will take on Tampa Bay on Saturday, with hopes of maintaining a perfect 3-0-0 record in Florida this season. Meanwhile, the Panthers are set to face Winnipeg, the current leaders of the NHL.
