Simon Holmstrom netted two goals, and Ilya Sorokin recorded his first shutout of the season with 29 saves, leading the New York Islanders to a 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.
Anders Lee also found the back of the net for New York, breaking a three-game losing streak. James Reimer stopped 17 shots for the Sabres, marking their third consecutive defeat.
Lee scored off a pass from Kyle Palmieri at 7:23 in the second period, and Holmstrom followed with his sixth goal at 9:28. Holmstrom sealed the game with an empty-net goal in the final seconds.
