NHL: Dallas Stars Sign Esa Lindell to a Five-Year Contract Extension

The Dallas Stars have renewed Esa Lindell's contract for five years, amounting to $26.25 million.

Lindell, who is 30 years old, is approaching the end of his existing contract. This new agreement ensures he stays with the team until the end of the 2029-30 season.

General manager Jim Nill commended Lindell as a reliable defenseman who excels in various situations. Nill emphasized Lindell's significant role in the penalty kill and his ability to take on challenging defensive tasks.

In the previous season, Lindell accumulated 26 points and appeared in all 82 games. Additionally, he notched five points during 19 playoff contests.

Expressing his affection for the city, organization, and fans, Lindell shared his enthusiasm about continuing his journey with the Stars.

Since being drafted by the Stars in 2012, Lindell has achieved 191 points over a span of 604 career games.
