Nick Suzuki led the Montreal Canadiens to a 4-3 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an overtime goal.
For the Canadiens, goals were also scored by Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, and Emil Heineman. In net, Cayden Primeau made 21 saves.
The Blue Jackets saw goals from Mathieu Olivier and Yegor Chinakhov, while Zach Werenski completed a Gordie Howe hat trick with a goal, an assist, and a fight. Goalie Elvis Merzlikins recorded 19 saves.
Despite being on the road and playing the second game within two days, the Canadiens came back to clinch the win in overtime.
Columbus lost their lead twice, which ended their streak of three consecutive wins.
Suzuki's game-winning goal in overtime came after Kent Johnson slipped, creating an opportunity for an odd-man rush.
Zach Werenski matched Bryan Berard's record for the longest assist streak by a Blue Jackets defenseman with eight assists over six games.
The Canadiens are scheduled to visit the New York Rangers on Saturday, while the Blue Jackets are set to host Calgary on Friday.
