New Jersey Devils News & Updates

Nico Hischier guided the New Jersey Devils to a 5-2 win against the Nashville Predators on Monday, achieving a hat-trick for the first time in his NHL career. All three goals, which ended his scoring drought, came in the second period.

Erik Haula and Justin Dowling also played key roles in the Devils' victory, while Filip Forsberg and Zachary L'Heureux found the net for Nashville. Jacob Markstrom, Scott Wedgewood, and Juuse Saros were responsible for goaltending for their respective teams.

The Predators, who had previously maintained an eight-game winning streak at the Prudential Center, were unable to capitalize on any power-play chances despite their high success rate. In contrast, the Devils registered a season-high 46 shots on goal.

A defining moment in the game occurred when the Devils successfully killed off a five-minute major penalty in the third period, maintaining their 4-2 advantage. During this penalty, Nashville only managed to take one shot.

This victory represented a turning point in the rivalry, as the Predators had historically dominated games at the Prudential Center.

The two teams are set to meet again on Wednesday, with the Devils set to host St. Louis and the Predators gearing up to face Philadelphia.
