In an exciting overtime finish in Vancouver, Evan Bouchard netted a goal for the Edmonton Oilers that led them to a 4-3 win against the Vancouver Canucks, evening out their playoff series.
The Oilers' attack was spearheaded by Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid, who both produced a goal and three assists each, while Mattias Ekholm also contributed with a goal. In goal, Stuart Skinner repelled 16 shots for the Oilers.
For the Canucks, goal scorers were Nikita Zadorov, Elias Pettersson, and Brock Boeser. Between the posts, Arturs Silovs managed to save 27 attempts.
A notable solo play by McDavid equalized the score during the third period, setting the stage for Edmonton's relentless pursuit of the winning goal, which was ultimately delivered by Bouchard in overtime.
The scoring was initiated by the Canucks with a power play goal from Pettersson, but McDavid set up Draisaitl for a goal that evened the score later in the initial period.
During an early second-period phase with 4-on-4 play, Boeser and Ekholm each scored a goal, with Zadorov later sending the Canucks into the lead before the second period concluded.
The series, now a best-of-seven, will proceed with Game 3 in Edmonton come Sunday.
