The playoff series between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks is now even at one game apiece following a thrilling 4-3 overtime win for the Oilers last night in Vancouver.

Evan Bouchard became the hero of the game, netting the decisive goal 5 minutes and 38 seconds into overtime. Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid both contributed significantly, each securing a goal and three assists. Mattias Ekholm added to the score, and goalie Stuart Skinner stopped 16 shots.

For the Canucks, goals were provided by Nikita Zadorov, Elias Pettersson, and Brock Boeser, while goalie Arturs Silovs made 27 saves.

In the overtime session, Bouchard secured the victory with a shot from near the boards that got by Silovs.

McDavid set up a dramatic tie at 3-3 with his goal at the 5:27 mark of the third period, aggressively moving down the ice and firing a shot that beat Silovs.

The Canucks were first to score thanks to a Pettersson goal during an early power play. Edmonton responded with a power-play goal of their own from Draisaitl, who played despite concerns over an injury. The game saw Boeser and Ekholm exchanging goals during a second-period 4-on-4 before Zadorov gave the Canucks a 3-2 lead heading into the final stretch.

The third match in the best-of-seven series is scheduled to take place in Edmonton on Sunday.
