Dallas Stars News & Updates

In Game 5 of the Western Conference Final, the Edmonton Oilers took advantage of their power-play opportunities to secure a 3-1 win against the Dallas Stars, scoring twice in the process.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins initiated the scoring with a goal from a rebound just 18 seconds after the first penalty, and then added another goal with a man advantage one minute into the second period.

Goalkeeper Stuart Skinner made 19 saves for the Oilers, and Philip Broberg scored from the blue line. Evan Bouchard assisted on both of the power-play goals.

The Dallas Stars managed only six shots on goal by the midway point of the game and did not score until Wyatt Johnston found the net with 5:51 left on the clock.

Jake Oettinger contributed 23 saves for the Stars, who have now suffered two consecutive losses after winning the first two games of the series.

The next game, Game 6, is set to take place in Edmonton on Sunday night. The Oilers need just one more win to advance to their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006.
