Ottawa Senators News & Updates

Dmitry Orlov was instrumental in the Hurricanes' dominant 7-2 win against the Senators in Ottawa, contributing with two goals and assisting on two others.

The Hurricanes took control of the game in the third period, netting four goals to secure their victory. Jalen Chatfield started the scoring spree early in the period, followed by Orlov's second goal of the night, with Jake Guentzel and Brendan Lemieux also finding the back of the net.

Earlier, the Hurricanes had established a 3-1 advantage in the second period thanks to efforts from Evgeny Kuznetsov, Seth Jarvis, and Orlov. However, Tim Stutzle managed to level the score for Ottawa, only for Jarvis to put Carolina back in the lead before the second intermission.

The game's opening goal came from Thomas Chabot of Ottawa, marking their first loss after two consecutive wins. Goalkeeper Anton Forsberg saved 30 attempts for the Senators, while Frederik Andersen matched this with 30 saves for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes were without Teuvo Teravainen due to an upper-body injury. Their next game is against the Islanders on Tuesday, while the Senators will face the Bruins the same day.
