Linus Ullmark, previously a goalie for the Boston Bruins, has now signed a four-year contract extension with the Ottawa Senators.
This new agreement for Ullmark, set to begin in the 2025-26 season, is valued at an average of $8.25 million per year.
Steve Staios, president of hockey operations for the Senators, shared his enthusiasm about Ullmark's addition, highlighting the player’s positive influence on the team’s culture and his family’s connection to the local community.
During his time in Boston, Ullmark partnered with Jeremy Swayman, creating the NHL's top-performing goaltending team over three seasons.
While Swayman has recently agreed to an eight-year contract, the Bruins decided to trade Ullmark to the Senators in exchange for Joonas Korpisalo.
Throughout his NHL career, Ullmark has achieved notable success, including winning the Vezina Trophy in the 2022-23 season and achieving impressive statistics in the past year.
The Senators brought Ullmark on board in an effort to enhance their goaltending, which ranked the lowest in the NHL during the last season.
Expressing his satisfaction with Ottawa, Ullmark highlighted the favorable environment for his family and his aspirations to positively contribute to the team.
Ullmark's forthcoming contract positions him as the fourth highest-paid goalie in the NHL, based on average annual value for the 2025-26 season, though this ranking may change if Igor Shesterkin from the New York Rangers signs a new contract.
