Ottawa Senators News & Updates

The Ottawa Senators secured a 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Saturday night, marking their second consecutive win.

Claude Giroux, Jacob Bernard-Docker, and Nick Cousins each scored for Ottawa, with Linus Ullmark making 37 saves. Tim Stutzle contributed assists on two of the Senators' goals.

Nashville's latest defeat extended their winless streak to seven games, as Juuse Saros stopped 27 shots for the Predators.

The Senators gained momentum in the second period with two goals. Bernard-Docker notched his first of the season, and Giroux capitalized on a deflection off Steven Stamkos' skate for a 2-0 lead.

Cousins later increased the lead to 3-1 in the third period, although Fedor Svechkov managed to score with under two minutes left, disrupting Ullmark's shutout.

The Senators' heightened intensity stood out throughout the match, whereas Nashville's penalty kill remained a strength amidst their challenges.

A key moment came when Ottawa successfully killed a penalty early in the final period, helping them to maintain control over the game.

Prior to this game, the Predators had managed to score at least three goals in 16 straight matchups against the Senators, but that streak was broken.

Looking ahead, the Predators are set to face the Calgary Flames at home on Tuesday, while the Senators will play the New York Islanders on Sunday night.
