Anton Forsberg's impressive performance with 31 saves, along with Drake Batherson's scoring, helped the Ottawa Senators secure their first away victory of the season, defeating Utah 4-0 on Tuesday night.
During the first period, Batherson, Claude Giroux, Ridley Greig, and Brady Tkachuk all found the back of the net, leading to the Senators' first road shutout since 2021. Connor Ingram started in goal for Utah, making five saves, before Karel Vejmelka took over and faced 14 shots.
Batherson and Giroux scored back-to-back goals, both with assists from Nick Jensen. Greig netted an unassisted goal on the power play, and Tkachuk’s goal extended the Senators' lead to 4-0.
Ottawa's strong defense and effective offense took advantage of Utah's weak defense. Despite outshooting Ottawa 31-22, Utah could not make the most of their scoring opportunities.
The goals by Batherson and Giroux gave Ottawa momentum after a slow beginning, while Utah's struggles on the power play enabled Greig to score the team's first power-play goal this season.
Ottawa will continue their road trip in Vegas on Friday, while Utah is set to face Colorado at home on Thursday.
