Florida Panthers News & Updates

The Florida Panthers secured a 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, putting an end to their streak of four losses. Sam Reinhart netted two goals, marking his 50th of the season, and Brandon Montour supplied three assists.

Vladimir Tarasenko and Carter Verhaeghe also scored for the Panthers, leveling them with the Boston Bruins at 97 points atop the Atlantic Division. The contest was the second of back-to-back games for both teams, with Florida's Anthony Stolarz making 32 saves and Philadelphia's Felix Sandstrom conceding three goals from 14 shots.

Reinhart's initial goal came in the first period, achieving his 50th of the season with a goal on an empty net later. Zach Hyman, of the Edmonton Oilers, achieved his 50th goal in another match, marking the fifth instance in 30 years where multiple players have hit their 50th goal on the same day.

Reinhart has become the second player from the Panthers to reach this milestone since Pavel Bure in the 2000-01 season. Tarasenko extended Florida's lead to 2-0 with a second-period power-play goal. Stolarz thwarted several scoring attempts from the Flyers, including a significant shot by Sean Couturier that hit the crossbar.

Bobby Brink managed to score for Philadelphia, yet the Panthers maintained their lead to clinch the win. Despite the defeat, Flyers coach John Tortorella appreciated his team's effort, believing it something they could build on.
