With just 16.2 seconds remaining in overtime, Gustav Forsling scored the decisive goal, leading the Florida Panthers to a 4-3 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night in Sunrise, Florida.
Sam Reinhart played a significant role for the Panthers, recording a goal and two assists. The team extended their point streak to four games despite the absence of star forwards Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk. Additional goals came from Sam Bennett and Eetu Luostarinen, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves as the Panthers' goaltender.
The Golden Knights, who were outshot by a margin of 49-26, squandered three leads despite goals from Tanner Pearson, Brett Howden, and Keegan Kolesar. Ilya Samsonov made 45 saves for Vegas in goal.
Luostarinen brought the score level at 3-3 late in the third period, setting the stage for Forsling to score the winning goal in overtime.
Reinhart is currently enjoying a five-game point streak, during which he has tallied four goals and nine points.
Looking ahead, the Golden Knights will host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, while the Panthers will compete against the Minnesota Wild in the concluding matchup of their three-game homestand.
