Detroit Red Wings News & Updates

Patrick Kane has signed a one-year extension with the Detroit Red Wings.

At 35 years old, Kane returned to Detroit following a notable season where he netted 20 goals and accumulated 47 points over 50 games. His standout performance boosted his desirability as a free agent.

Despite the Red Wings not making the playoffs, Kane has faith in the team's capabilities and is determined to lead them to a successful season.

The new deal for Kane is projected to be higher than his prior salary of $2.75 million.

Having spent 17 seasons in the league, Kane occupies the second spot for points among U.S.-born NHL players, with a total of 1,284 points.

The Red Wings are also considering the possible return of Perron and Gostisbehere while working on extending the contracts of Raymond and Seider.
