The Florida Panthers have decided to lengthen Paul Maurice's tenure with the team. Maurice, known for winning the Stanley Cup, will continue with the Panthers.
Paul Maurice guided the Panthers to the Stanley Cup Final during his initial two seasons. He achieved 98 victories in regular-season games, making him the third most successful coach in terms of wins in the team's history.
During the playoffs, Maurice has achieved 29 victories, surpassing the combined total of all other coaches who have led the Panthers. This contract extension ensures the stability of Florida's championship lineup, with important players such as Carter Verhaeghe, Aleksander Barkov, Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Reinhart, Anton Lundell, and Gustav Forsling secured with contracts extending to at least the year 2030.
Paul Maurice is an experienced coach, holding the second spot in NHL history for the number of games coached, totaling 1,855, and is fourth in all-time wins with 873. The Panthers' triumph last season was Maurice's inaugural Stanley Cup victory as a coach.
