Pete DeBoer, the coach of the Dallas Stars, has been given the green light to return to the ice just in time for the start of the season. He was absent at the beginning of training camp because of an appendectomy followed by some minor issues.
The Stars held a practice session in Nashville on Wednesday as they prepared for the opening game against the Predators. DeBoer mentioned that he felt well and had been keeping up with exhibition games via the team's streaming service during his time away.
Jason Robertson, the team's top scorer, has also returned to skating after having surgery to remove a cyst on his foot. He is anticipated to play in the first game. Robertson has participated in every game over the last two seasons, significantly contributing to the Stars' advancement to the Western Conference final on both occasions.
