Terry Pegula, the co-owner of the two teams, praised Guelli for his vast expertise and leadership skills in the sports sector, emphasizing his ability to navigate the anticipated updates for the facilities of both teams. Before this role, Guelli contributed his talents to the New York Giants as their Chief Business Officer for the past five years and held the position of COO with the Charlotte Hornets prior to that. The transition to Guelli comes after the exits of John Roth and Kathryn D'Angelo from their COO positions with the Bills and Sabres in October, with interim COOs filling in until Guelli's recent appointment. Guelli is set to oversee significant initiatives including the crafting of a new stadium for the Bills and enhancements to the Sabres' KeyBank Center. He has expressed his appreciation for the new role and the importance of the franchises to the community in Buffalo.
