John Tortorella invited Guy Gaudreau, the father of the late hockey players John and Matthew Gaudreau, to help with drills at the Flyers' training session.

Guy Gaudreau, who has coaching experience from Hollydell Ice Arena and Gloucester Catholic High School, received acknowledgment from the Flyers for his assistance.

Tortorella, who had never met Gaudreau before, intends to have him back several times as part of the team.

Impressed by Gaudreau's coaching abilities, Tortorella highlighted his strong standing within the organization.

John Gaudreau, a Columbus Blue Jackets star, and his brother Matthew died in a suspected drunk driving incident while riding bicycles before their sister's wedding.

The driver involved faces charges including death by auto, reckless driving, and alcohol-related offenses.

Tortorella attended the funeral for the brothers and expressed his commitment to supporting the Gaudreau family.

Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny's widow, appreciated Tortorella's gesture, noting it brought some happiness to the family.

Tortorella believes the team's support can offer some comfort to the Gaudreau family.
