Tampa Bay Lightning News & Updates

Brayden Point was pivotal in the Tampa Bay Lightning's 6-3 comeback win against the New York Rangers, delivering a standout performance with three goals and three assists, despite early deficits.

Nikita Kucherov also made significant contributions with a goal and four assists, alongside vital efforts from Steven Stamkos, Anthony Duclair, and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy's 25 saves for the Lightning.

This game marked Point's fourth hat trick and set a team record with six points in a single game, equalling the records held by Kucherov and Doug Crossman for the most points in a Lightning game.

Stamkos is on the verge of achieving milestones, needing three more power-play goals to equal Gordie Howe's 15th all-time ranking and one more goal to reach Stan Mikita's 33rd place all-time.

Kucherov has distinguished himself alongside Connor McDavid as the only current players to have earned over 70 assists in at least three seasons.

For the Rangers, the goals were scored by Jack Roslovic, Artemi Panarin, and Braden Schneider, with Igor Shesterkin stopping 22 shots.

The game took a turn when the Rangers led 3-2 in the third period, but Point quickly evened the score 1:53 afterwards.

The Lightning's comeback was sealed with an empty-net goal from Kucherov, set up by Point, with 3:38 remaining, setting a new team record for Point with his six-point game.
